A third-generation Allegheny Countian, Valerie grew up in western Pennsylvania, where her family taught her the importance of hard work, education, personal responsibility, and serving your community. Those values have shaped every chapter of her life.

After graduating from college in 1989, Valerie began her career working for U.S. Senator John Heinz. She later followed her entrepreneurial spirit and built successful businesses over more than 25 years. As a business owner, startup advocate, and angel investor, Valerie has helped entrepreneurs grow their businesses, create jobs, and turn their ideas into opportunities.

But Valerie’s commitment to her community extends far beyond business. As a certified EMT and active community volunteer, she has always believed in stepping up when people need help and giving back to the community she calls home.

Valerie brought that same spirit of service to Harrisburg when she was first elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. Today, she proudly serves as the State Representative for the 44th Legislative District, putting her experience as a business owner and community leader to work for the people she represents.

In Harrisburg, Valerie is known for working across the aisle, building relationships, and focusing on the issues that matter most to families, workers, seniors, and small businesses. She believes that progress happens when we put aside partisan politics, focus on our shared values, and work together to solve problems.

Valerie isn’t in public service to be part of the political establishment. She’s there to make a difference.

From western Pennsylvania to Harrisburg, Valerie has built her life around hard work, service, entrepreneurship, and community. She remains committed to fighting for a stronger Pennsylvania and delivering results for the people and communities she is honored to represent.
